No Gods No Masters
Harm's Way is a band that I've followed closely for a few years now, and No Gods No Masters is one of my favorites by them. This record is really short, at about 15 minutes in length. The benefit of this though, is that I can listen to it front to back and write a quick little review before I head to work.
Just for your information, this album isn't on Spotify or Apple Music due to copyright issues with sampling like three different movies. The full album is available on YouTube.
- Darwin: I play this song every time I'm not motivated to go to the gym. Starts off with a Bad Lieutenant reference, ends with (I believe) Alan Watts, but it could be any new age hippie guy talking about mass-surveillance.
- Puppet: Really sick breakdown on this one, an American Psycho quote at the end.
- Debase: Almost seems like the opposite of the previous song, very thrashy and feels like forbidden black magic is flowing through my veins every time I listen to it.
- Fantasy: A second American Psycho quote, followed by a slower (relative to the rest of the album), grindy song. It makes me feel like I'm being queen-balled. To find out what queen-balling is, click here
- King: I feel like this one would be pretty good for skateboarding for some reason. It ends with another American Psycho quote, geez these guys really must love American Psycho.
Anyways, that's it; Stay tuned for the next review!
